I dunno. I wanted to ask this for a long time.
As for me, my true nickname is "Carmi". When my uncle said use a "K" to make it more interesting as my user name for our Diablo II game, I really liked the feel of it. A "C" is just boring for me. It was only in Grade 6 when I started writing my name with a K.
As for the "Sempai" part, I was a fan of CLAMP Campus Detectives in the same year. My favorite characters were Nokoru Imonoyama and Suoh Takamura. Nokoru was known as kaichou which stands for "president" while Suoh was called sempai, upperclassman. I first called myself "Kaichou Karmi-Sempai" but my cousin, Mika really liked Nokoru's character as well. Since we work together at Mika and Karmi's Comics I thought our pen names should match. And so, I was christened "Karmi-Sempai".
How about you?
As Kuro had mentioned, she used to call herself "Black" but she changed it to Japanese. Why did you call yourself by that name, then? And Roy, why did you change yours from "Dr. Pikachu"?

LOL! A steel pipe!
That's really clever, Dia. Yes, I've known your real name is Melissa but I choose to respect pseudonyms for privacy reasons.

I don't really mind whichever people prefer to call me, though I take a lot longer to respond IRL if I'm called "Dia" XD

I see.
Strangely, Sakura is too used to being called, well, "Sakura" and she doesn't respond just as quickly to her real name anymore.

My nickname came from a long chain of things ._. I was making an account an neopets when I was... 12? (I had alot of accounts on there =O) So I was digging through my brothers' games and I stumbled upon Gabriel Knight: Beast Within. So I put Beast Within, but it was taken... I hate adding numbers to the end, it annoys me. So I decided to put "black" in front, which worked. I then joined an anime guild where everyone called me "Black". When I was about 14, I started to learn Japanese and told them how kuro meant black in Japanese and everyone loved how it sounded, so they decided to call me that from then on. And I still Kuro today =O.... though Kar calls me Kupo or the tired tire (because I was typing to her and I was saying that I was tired and going to bed and it came out "tire" instead of "tired", so Kar said "you're a tire? ")

Wow, that's a cool way of getting your user name. Yeah, it's a little long. "Kuro" sounds just plain awesome!
