Personally, I rated it 2/5 in the movie review I made for school. Yes. many of you will surely shoot me for saying that. Forgive me if I sound like I'm bragging. I didn't get to know my score for the review but my final grades in English class was 90 to 94. Maybe, I can put up my review but I'm afraid my life will be in constant threat afterwards. XD

Okay, here goes. I condensed it for clarity.
PLOT LINE 1) Introduction to BJ - based on Manga Issue #111 Race Against Time - BJ amputates Tomo's arms to save him from collapsing rubble 2) Introduction to Kiriko - based on Manga Issue #56 Black Mirror Image - BJ saves a mother who hired Kiriko to euthanize her 3) Introduction to the Quote Leading to the Solution - based on Manga Issue #141 Death of Hyojisai - BJ and Biwamaru go to Hyojisai to refine their respective instruments - "Birth and Death are a part of Life..." 4) Problem - Satan anthrax 5) Solution - Rock's anti-bodies 6) Denouement - BJ, Kiriko and Midori are rescued by Pinoco, Wato, Master and Largo Critique: 1) The plot follows a satisfactory case-effect relationship. The Daedalus Group, for example, is present through the whole movie. From being a mere owner of a department store, it was eventually revealed as the villain. 2) There's a sense of disentanglement. What the heck happened to Tomo, Biwamaru, Sharaku and Kumiko!? The movie can be divided into Part I and II. Part I: Numbers 1-3. Part II: Number 4-6. Part I is just badly stitched-together manga while Part II is something completely new written by the team. In fact, it was mentioned the movie just has a slightly bigger budget than the series, which is also made up of one or two manga put together. Cheap writers. If they can come up with Part II, why couldn't they come up with a more suitable Part I? 3) The title Futari no Kuroi Isha (The Two Doctors of Darkness). But Kiriko didn't do much in the movie at all. Quoted from Writing to Sell: "You shouldn't call a story Murder on Campus just because the hero finds a ketchup-stained dummy. 4) Some parts seem to come from flukes. There was that scene where Pinoco gave BJ some curry that'll help locate him when he got kidnapped. Since when did she so suddenly give him curry!? kid4112 told me there was an episode in BJ 21 where they used his pen to find him. Why couldn't they have done that!? 5) What kind of ending was that!? They were just found there floating by coincidence, and they're hopelessly lost at sea with no clue to their fate.
CONSISTENCY Kiriko's gloves tend to disappear from time to time.
DRAWING STYLE The use of a drawing style similar to the OVAs is not appropriate because it was primarily used to enhance sexual appeal, not befitting of the BJ the younger audiences have grown to love.
MUSIC Generally terrible. The jazzy whistling makes me yawn and it's just not right when used on the childhood accident flashback. The ending song sucks, too.
DUBBING Huzzahs for Akio Otsuka!
OVERALL The most important element is the plot. Since the movie failed to receive a good rating, people out for a good story aren't recommended to watch it unless they're BJ or Tezuka buffs. This absolutely terrible movie, which will begin an unrestrained publication in the US in Fall 2008, should not be used to represent Black Jack as a whole. I suggest people to read Tezuka's original manga series.

Actually the animation style was of two teams. If you look at the scene of Pinoko cooking in the kitchen and burning her tongue to the one where she's running to the boat (OVA style). There's probably another team in there, but that's pretty much the team that's responsible for animating the TV series (each team takes turns on animating certain episodes). Well, I don't have my own copy of the movie so I wasn't able to observe it very well. I only got to watch it a couple of times. Yes, I've also noticed certain teams animate some episodes. I would have to agree about reading the original manga series. Though I wouldn't say it was absolutely terrible as it still managed to entertain like some of the action sequences and comedy moments (Come on, don't tell me you didn't laugh at Pinoko trying to sthingy feed Kiriko!). The end obviously (entire story in fact) doesn't hold a candle to Tezuka's mangas and early anime movies. I'm not sure if you would consider this a critique but there are moments in the movie that are catered to pleasing certain fans. =P Well, that is true. Little touches like that were nice but I didn't exactly like how the story came out. Thanks for your insights, Mai!

Huh...I agree with Karmi-sempai. The music was terrible. The whistling during the opening credits made me think if this BJ movie was some western cowboy movie. 0_o
Kiriko's gloves disappear? I didnt notice that.
I muted the music when I watched the ending credits. I only wanted the pictures. T^T It would've been better if they made 2 movies: one based on the manga chapters and another movie which isnt based on the manga. I would've been more satisfied.
This is the latest BJ movie, right?

I 'm a Kiriko fan so I liked this movie. Sure it's not the best movie ever, but it's still pretty good. My favorite part of the movie: *Bad Guy is sitting against the wall with a horrible stab wound, sees Dr. kiriko enter the room* BG: Thank god you're here! please, help me! I can pay you whatever you want! DK: Oh realy? well in that case... *takes out his euthanasia machine* BG: Wait, what's that? ...DK: Your wounds are fatal, I'm going to put you out of your misery! BG:FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU*dies*

Oh, oh my. You guys are just horrible. Downright horrible. Personally, I didn't watch the movie yet, but it's just sad to hear Black Jack fans disliking the movie just because of the music and a few bit of scenes. You guys aren't true fans if you didn't like the Black Jack movie. I like all of them. (Regardless, if I haven't seen it yet.) I have seen about like 20 minutes of the Japanese version of the 90s movie. (Cause I don't like English dubs of Tezuka anime. It makes me want to throw scalpels at the English voice cast, and the people who bothered with it in the first place. ^^) I thought it was pretty good so far And I also only watched about like 20 minutes of the Two Docotors of Death movie as well. It wasn't bad. Personally, I didn't really care about the whistling music. If it's in there, it's in there and there is nothing we can do about it. Either like the movie for what it is, or not. Oh, well that's too bad. (Tough tities said the kitty cause the milk tasted Shi**y.) So in other words, I liked the movie, and if you hate it then you can go to hell hon. (Not that I'm saying that you guys hate the movie or anything, but since it sounds like you are... well... XD )
