Yes, I know, theres already a thread like this but I cant find it now.
Look what wikipedia has to say about his age.
In episode 31 "Intimidation in the Twentieth Year" (Black Jack TV), its said the operation made by Dr. Honma was twenty years ago, so Black Jack's age is around 28 years, but its said he opened his clinic 10 years ago, so Black Jack could have finished medical career when he was 18 years or younger.
This would be true if Black Jack's age was 8 at the time of the accident.
Finished his medical career? I think the editor meant medical school.
Let's theorize his age, shall we?
Do the math:
1. Let's assume the explosion happened when he was eight. He couldn't have finished his education in ten years.
2. In Japan, if you're eight, you could probably be in Grade 3. If he stayed in the hospital for months on end, then he is obviously behind in school.
3. 3 years of elementary (starting from Grade 3), 3 years of junior high, probably 4 years of high school (correct me if im wrong), and a standard of 4 years of college. Medical school could take 6-8 years, probably. Add them all up and you could get at least 18 years. If he were eight at the time of the explosion, he would be around 26 when he graduated college.
In present time, he says he got his house/private clinic ten years ago. If his age is 28, as mentioned in wiki, he got his house within an year of his graduation? He didn't look 18 when the carpenter came to build him his house.
Wait, scratch that...BJ looks the same now and 10 years ago.
So, the math says he's 26 when he graduated. 2 years of renting, perhaps, then 28 when he got his house by the cliff.
Does he look 28 to you? That's probably the lowest age I can believe he is. And what if he skipped grades because he was a doctor-prodigy? He would be younger...UGH...possibly more years of apartment-renting???
All this could be true if he was eight at the time of the explosion. At least he looks eight in the flashback ^^
This is only for the BJ in Black Jack TV. In Black Jack 21, he says it happened 21 years ago so BJTV happened a year before BJ21...I know you're smart enough to know that already but whatever. Throw it into the pot...
