I'm pretty sure Dr. Raphel from the Gatchaman II series is a reference to BJ, too. He doesn't have a scar, but he does have grey hair and walks around in a black cape lined with red. He's also supposed to be an incrediable doctor and the only person capable of turning Joe into a cyborg, thereby saving his life. BTW: I'm new here, but the more I thought about Raphel as being a refernce to BJ, the more sure I was of it, so I just had to post it asap.

Let's see... *sits down and wears glasses* 1) Akihito Yopoopomi's RayIn the manga, he's known as a certain surgeon named BJ. He performs surgery on the titular character's eyes that allows her to see through solid objects. This leads her to becoming a doctor, too, except a full-licensed one. In the anime, Black Jack appears fully and is called by his original name. 2) Excel SagaA manga that often parodies, pop-culture icons, a version of BJ was made named Dr. Norifumi Iwata. The latter was even described as "a Black Jack going quack". 3) Yakitate! JapanWe all know we see lots of parodies here. Even real people like Brad Pitt! My reference: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Jack_(manga)

Cool! It took me time to load in the picture with the raisin/rice-sized BJ in it. When I first saw it, I was like, "Where's BJ?"
